To succeed with this, you need to learn to become aware of your emotions, which I've already described above.

Step 1: Picture any uncomfortable situation of yours. Anything that fills your life with negative emotions. Then, break it down into tiny details. Be precise and take your time. The more work you do here, the better the outcome.

Step 2: Ask yourself questions such as: What does happen during this situation? Which people are present? What do they say that makes me feel like this? How do I feel physically when I am in this situation? Which thoughts pop into my mind?

Step 3: Now, ask yourself the following questions: What does the situation mean to you? How important is it in your life, and how would you need it to be so that it gives you better feelings, which can create better thoughts? Make sure to focus on things you can do to make the situation better, not what everyone else should do so that you feel better, as that's something you don't have control over.

The last strategy should always be present in your life, but it's significantly important for succeeding with emotional regulation. Make sure you take regular breaks, small and big ones. Do this to recharge, enable yourself to sort your thoughts, and gain new perspectives.
